The electricity generated is contained in three tesla power-tubes that resemble light bulbs, which the player reloads into the Wunderwaffe DG-2. These unique attributes make it an ideal room-clearing weapon. This gives it a maximum killing potential of 180 enemies. The Wunderwaffe DG-2 has three cartridges on the side for ammunition, and 15 reserved, totaling 18. However, in order for the DG-2 to effectively work, the zombies should be nearby each other, as if the zombies are more than five yards away from each other, the bolt might not link to other zombies. The bolt then proceeds to hit up to nine nearby enemies with no diminished power for a maximum killing potential of 10 enemies. Powered by Element 115, the weapon is packed with 200,000 amperes of devastating chained electrical current, in-game, it is incredibly powerful, sending a bolt of lightning at the targeted enemy, killing it instantly. It was built at Der Riese factory, along with the teleporters, and was intended to be mass produced and supplied to front line troops to win the war. The Wunderwaffe DG-2 was Doctor Edward Richtofen's breakthrough in weapon development during the final stages of war in World War II. The Wunderwaffe DG-2 returns in the Call of Duty: Vanguard remake of Shi No Numa within the Dark Aether Saga as the map's main Wonder Weapon. The Wunderwaffe DG-2 it was planned to return in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, however it was cut. It is also available in Call of Duty Online's Cyborg Rising mode.

In Call of Duty: Black Ops III, the Wunderwaffe DG-2 is available in The Giant, a reimagining of Der Riese as well as in Verrückt and Shi No Numa in the Zombies Chronicles map pack. The weapon returns in both Der Riese and Shi No Numa from the Rezurrection map pack for Black Ops. The weapon also appears in Der Riese and Call of the Dead, in Call of Duty: Black Ops after completing the main quest and killing George Romero. The Wunderwaffe DG-2 (pronounced: Vunder Vaffe German for: " Wonder Weapon DG-2") is a Wonder Weapon featured in Treyarch's Zombies mode, first introduced in Shi No Numa in Call of Duty: World at War.
